You are Worthy of Life Free From Worry and Self Doubt

Do you realize you worth? God has, read this!

I am astounded at the persistence it takes to truly understand that the learned feelings of inadequacy and anxiety about them aren’t true for anyone! In my recovery from a harrowing drug addiction and a lifetime of self doubt and low self esteem, it’s been almost impossible for anyone to convince me fully of their love for me. I found that I wasn’t the worth the trouble in my preteen years with the constant reminders of that fact from my narcissistic mother. Needless to say, I felt that even God himself couldn’t fix my self loathing persona. It reminded me of one of my favorite Bible passages for the anxiety of not being enough. Psalm 56:3-4 “Whenever I am afraid [anxious], I will trust in You. In God (in God I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear [anxiety or depression]. What can flesh do to me?”

As we all seem to suffer from one source of anxiety or another, fear is what causes it. Like unconscious anxiety like obsessing over how you are ever going to finally lose the Christmas dinner weight? Or whether we should be saving for baby Sophia’s college? (which she may not even use) Spiraling into What if she never goes to college?! Or will we be able to make our mortgage payment this month? What about next month? Or what will you make of your husband’s tardiness coming home from work? Where is he, REALLY?!

While all plausible scenarios allow ourselves to wallow in self-doubt or pity, we should all be lifting our insecurities to the One who already knows what you are enduring all alone. You can put on a brave face day in and day out, but God knows exactly how you feel and the extent to which you are feeling. I once considered myself the Queen of insecurity; as I dug deeper into what caused my doubt and prayed to find solutions and to clear the confusion compounding these fears, I used some techniques I found on the internet. I read passages just like this breaking them down to see the practicality in them. Thus, I have found clarity.
For instance, when my mind is spiraling from all the doubts and fears swirling around in my head, I try to find something to write with and on. Write down everything that’s bothering you one at a time, and answer some simple questions with each one.

“why do I feel this way?”

“is there any truth to this?”

would my closest friend agree that it has merit?”

After answering truthfully; usually, you be surprised at the answers and what relief you can find in this exercise. Go ahead and send these answered worries to God and ask Him to keep these anxieties at bay, and ask Him to reveal the beauty He sees in you to you!
God sees everything that makes you unique and gorgeous. He made you to be sure of yourself and confident in Him. There are many gifts God gives you as His child and many truths in His word that will assure you of your value and strength. They are called Affirmations, can be found in your Bible, or you can start with the basic positive self-talk.
Remember, we all struggle with finding our worth from time to time, but think about what God says about you and your worth in Him. God wants you to know you are worthy and thrive on living in abundance in joy and peace for your entire lifetime.

Luke 12:22-24: 'Then He said to His disciples,"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat;nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow or reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds'
